This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you visit the Site, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described here.

What this Site is — and is not
APYCalculator.com is an informational website that provides free calculators, rate comparisons, and educational content about US savings products. We are not a bank, broker, or financial institution. We do not accept deposits, hold customer funds, or open accounts on your behalf. The Site does not require registration, does not have user accounts, and does not collect payment information.
Information we collect
Because the Site has no accounts or checkout, the information we collect is limited to what is necessary to operate the Site, understand how it is used, and serve advertising. Specifically:
Information you provide directly. If you email us through the contact address listed above or fill out a contact form, we receive your email address and the contents of your message. We use that information solely to respond to your inquiry.
Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, our hosting provider and analytics tools automatically receive standard web log data, including your IP address, browser type and version, device type and operating system, referring URL, the pages you view on the Site, and the date and time of each request. This information is used to monitor Site performance, detect abuse, and understand aggregate usage patterns.
Information from cookies and similar technologies. We use cookies, browser local storage, and similar technologies to remember your preferences (for example, calculator inputs you have entered during a session) and to support advertising and analytics. Calculator inputs. Numbers you enter into the calculators on the Site are processed in your browser. We do not require you to submit them to our servers, and we do not store them in association with your identity. If you generate a shareable link from a calculator, the input values are encoded in the URL itself, not stored in a database tied to you.
We do not collect Social Security numbers, account numbers, credit card numbers, dates of birth, or other sensitive financial information.
How we use the information
We use the information described above to:
Operate, maintain, and improve the Site, including its calculators and rate comparison features. Respond to inquiries you send us. Monitor traffic patterns and detect technical problems, fraud, and abuse. Serve and measure advertising, including through Google AdSense and other advertising partners. Comply with applicable law and respond to lawful requests from public authorities.
We do not sell personal information.
Advertising and Google AdSense
The Site is supported in part by display advertising. We participate in Google AdSense, which is operated by Google LLC.

Cookies

Strictly necessary. Required for the Site to function (for example, remembering your cookie preference choices). These cannot be disabled.
Functional. Remember your preferences and calculator inputs within a session. The Site will still work if these are disabled but may not remember your choices between visits.

How we share information
We do not sell personal information. We share information only as described here:
Service providers. We share information with vendors who help us operate the Site, such as our hosting provider, content delivery network, analytics provider, and advertising partners. These providers are bound by contract to use the information only to provide services to us.
Advertising partners. As described in the Advertising section, Google AdSense and similar partners receive information through cookies and similar technologies in order to serve and measure advertising.
Legal requirements. We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, court order, or other legal process, or where we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety or the safety of others, or to investigate fraud.
Business transfers. If Information Services Inc. is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, information about Site visitors may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will require the recipient to honor the commitments in this Privacy Policy.
Data retention
Web log data is retained for up to 14 months and then deleted or aggregated. Analytics data is retained according to the retention settings of the analytics provider, typically no more than 26 months. Email correspondence is retained as long as reasonably necessary to provide support and address follow-up questions, and then deleted on a routine schedule.
International transfers
Information Services Inc. is based in Canada. The Site is hosted by service providers that may store and process data in Canada, the United States, and other countries. By using the Site, you acknowledge that your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than the one in which you reside, including countries whose data protection laws may differ from those of your home country.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to access, correct, delete, or port your information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.

Know what categories of personal information we collect, the sources, the business purposes, and the categories of third parties with whom we share it. Request a copy of the specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you. Request deletion of your personal information, subject to certain exceptions. Opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Non-discrimination for exercising your rights.
We do not sell personal information in the traditional sense. However, the use of advertising cookies described above may be considered "sharing" under California law. You can opt out of advertising cookies through the controls described in the Advertising section. For users in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, and Switzerland (GDPR / UK GDPR)

Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the limited information we collect. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Do Not Track
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" signal. Because there is no industry standard for how to respond to these signals, the Site does not currently respond to them. You can control tracking through the cookie and advertising opt-outs described above.
Links to other sites
The Site contains links to third-party websites, including financial institutions and brokers. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those sites. We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of any third-party website. We encourage you to read the privacy policy of every site you visit.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page indicates when the most recent changes were made.
